more about me
I was born in New Port Richey, Florida, and was an only child for 15 1/2 years until my sister came along. I married my husband, Chet, at 22. and then we were blessed with four children- Melissa, Stephanie, Jennifer, and Mark. They are all grown, and now I'm also the grandmother of four.
Much of my adult life has been spent being a homeschool mom, and I also helped my husband with his stump grinding business. I'm a very curious and adventurous person. I love all kinds of animals especially horses, and dolphins. I love to do active things outdoors such as nature walks, swimming, tennis, volleyball, and jet skiing. I also enjoy crafts, playing the piano, reading, and games. I am also very interested in natural health due to some health problems I have had, and have spent countless hours studying it.
My life has had it's share of ups and downs, but I'm thankful that when I've surrendered to God He has caused good things to come from even the worst of circumstances. I've learned to look for the good and for the priceless lessons that are always to be found during the hard parts of life.
As an adult I have devoured thousands of books and articles. As awesome as books are, they don't give you the perspective, insight, and support that other people can. One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made was trying to deal with all my problems on my own. I was super shy, probably as shy as anyone I've ever known. I could hardly talk to anyone, and I was socially quite awkward. At one point I attended a recovery group, and since then I've grown in leaps and bounds in many ways, and I'm still constantly learning. Many people believe that recovery is just for people with drug and alcohol addiction, but the principles are for anyone who has had a significant problem in life. One of the things that it helped me with the most is discovering why I had such a hard time connecting with people.
Considering the severity of my shyness, it's really a miracle that my husband and I began teaching a Life Group together at church, and that I went on to teach other groups. Some other things I've learned a lot about are how to deal with unforgiveness, miscommunication, parenting struggles, marital issues, codependency, other relational issues, perfectionism, anxiety, anger, shame, and guilt. Most recently, in 2019, I was devasted when my husband of almost 29 years died of a heart attack. Since then I have leaned into learning how to deal with grief.
My heart's desire is to help people to avoid some of the pain I've went through, to thrive, and to live a fulfilling life that is alignment with their purpose.
Life coaching is about getting to the root cause of the issues, and what may work for one person may not work for another. You were created to be someone no one else could ever be, and to do what no one else could ever do. It would be my pleasure to come alongside you to help you discover, and/or overcome the obstacles to reach the destiny you were made for, not just as a destination at the end of your life, but every day, day by day.
